Program: Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships

Project no: CZ/10/LLP-LdV/PS/P/134047

Project duration: 01.08.2010 - 31.07.2012

Website for our project:

Main aim: To deepen and extend the existing LearnWithClay partnership.

Description of the project:

The Partnership Project LearnWithClay in years 2010 - 2012 tested and evaluated the tools for ECVET Earth Building, focused on clay plaster, developed by the previous Leonardo Innovation Transfer Project and introduced it into two other countries: CZ and SK. The tools such as handbook with instructions, specified learning outcomes and criteria to help assess them were tried out and thus tested and evaluated within this project at ECVET exams run by the partners. Tests have been performed in 5 countries (DE, FR, UK, CZ, SK) and in different learning environments and for different target groups (trainees in initial training, trainees in continuous training and in adult education.)

In the previous project LearnWithClay transfer of innovation 2008-2010 the common rules and level of quality was set for ECVET for clay plastering on the basis of EQF and memorandum of understanding to implement ECVET was signed by the partners from 4 countries: DE, FR, BG, UK. The partners agreed to run courses to make evaluations, to accept the certificates awarded by other partners.

The results of the project:

Apart from better networking and increased quality of training and examination and its comparability thanks to ECVET there are product results of the project such as: Addendum to the existing ECVET Earth building handbook, with additional part with good practice in ECVET training and ECVET exams. Introduction to ECVET system was written in languages of the partners from Slovak and Czech Republics. Result of the project is also in gaining the experience and implementation of ECVET into training. Trainers and assessors of the project partners from involved countries took advantage of intense exchange and could give support to each other, as how to best teach and assess by using the instruments worked out for the ECVET clay plaster training and exams. Partners from Czech Republic, Slovakia and France gained experience applying ECVET for clay plastering in training and assessing and in return offered ECVET certificates at their own training centers.

Additional results:

Other additional results which proved to be important during the project are: development of the pool of questions for exams, which was set up and will be added after the end of the project as well as the common database which was started, but its form and functioning will be improved in other project or by other means. There was also need to find a way to advertise ECVET courses and exams on the website of the project, so a unified form was created in all partner languages. As a result of the project, The Memorandum of understanding to implement ECVET was amended twice to include Czech, Slovak, new French and also Italian partners.

Dissemination and sustainability of the results:

The ECVET Earth building system has been disseminated in all the partner countries by different activities like presentation on web sites, conferences and press reports. The results of the project will be practically used by all the partners as they are inseparable part of the ECVET training and examination run by partner organizations. In this way the sustainability of the project results is naturally provided and unquestionable.

LearnWithClay partnership project gave an opportunity for partners from France, Czech republic and Slovakia to understand, experience and apply the ECVET for clay plastering based on EQF, which was previously developed by the partners from Germany, France and UK. This partnership provided mutual support on how to integrate ECVET into courses, tests and programs and enabled to try assessment tools created in the previous project and improve them.

Successful meetings of the partnership:

One of the most important features of the meetings was the possibility to observe ECVET exams organized by partners, which helped partners to set comparable level of courses and ECVET exams. These ECVET exams were followed by feedback and evaluation by organizer and observing partners, which resulted into addendum to the handbook. Moreover, the partnership enabled the trainees of the partners to take exams abroad, with satisfactory results and good experience. Partnersʼ internal evaluation of the project showed overall satisfaction with content of meetings, practicing ECVET exams, number of meetings and excursions. Partners usually agreed on the content of the meeting, set the goals and expectations of it and then divided into working groups to work efficiently during the meeting.
