HEALTHY HOUSES 2010

The international conference focusing upon natural building materials and healthy interiors was held in Brno on 27 and 27 May 2010. The increasing numbers of interested entities, manufacturers, and implementations – buildings or parts thereof – result also in increasing numbers of questions how to tackle various issues. The Conference offered some answers. The Conference provided the comprehensive review of natural materials and products for building purposes in the Czech market, beginning with clay plasters packed in sacks, over wooden elements down to insulation products using flax, sheep wool, hemp.

Modern Earth Plaster Course

The first part of the course took place in Hostim (district of Znojmo) on Saturday, October 9, 2004.
aterial manufactured by Austria-based firm of Natur&Lehm.
Under the direction of architect Dimov of Austria, the following was carried out (Fig. 1-3): (obr. 1-3):

pargework on partition walls made of new bricks (Keratherm, slip bricks)
pargework on a partition wall made of old burnt all-bricks
placing of reed mats on old ashlar masonry as a base for earth plaster
plaster on a partition wall made of full burnt bricks.

The second part of the course takes places in the spring - the date will be announced in time.

Křtiny - Clay plasters training course

Training course of traditional clay plasters was held in Křtiny from 17th to 18th July 2004. Clay plasters were made on the walls made from old burnt bricks, adobe, wood and straw balls.
